Hey guys! Last week we went to Target and we saw a few books that we wanted to add to our library. Most of them were my picks and some were Destiny's picks. Then of course my daughter wanted to read some of my picks as well. That means once they are bought, they will belong to the both of us--isn't that wonderful?! I don't really mind it for right now but once she goes off to college in about 3 years, I will. I will be keep an eye on out the books she decides to take--maybe I'll limit her to 5? One can wish right?

My first pick is Gathering Prey by John Sanford. The first thing that stood out to me was the cover. The creepy trailer and the nice bright green title. The 30% off Target sticker also got my attention. This book is priced at (with the 30% off) $20.27. Amazon has it for $17.37. You can either price match it at Target OR order it from Amazon right here!

This book is apart of a series called the "Prey Series" and is book #25. The fist book is titled 'Rules of Prey' and it was published in 1989! Can you believe that? I was 4 years old in 1989.

Summary:

"They call them Travelers. They move from city to city, panhandling, committing no crimes--they just like to stay on the move. And now somebody is killing them.

Lucas Davenport's adopted daughter, Letty, is home from college when she gets a phone call from a woman Traveler she'd befriended in San Francisco. The woman thinks somebody's killing her friends, she's afraid she knows who it is, and now her male companion has gone missing. She's hiding out in North Dakota, and she doesn't know what to do.

Letty tells Lucas he's going to get her, and, though he suspects Letty's getting played, he volunteers to go with her. When he hears the woman's story, though, he begins to think there's something in it. Little does he know. In the days to come, he will embark upon an odyssey through a subculture unlike any he has ever seen, a trip that will not only put the two of them in danger--but just may change the course of his life."

My second pick is Invisible by James Patterson and David Ellis. James Patterson is one of my favorite authors. I love his work and frankly, nobody can write a suspense thriller like Mr. Patterson can. This book was published on February 24th, 2015. Target has this book for $22.40 or you can get it on Amazon for $17.56 here!

Summary:

"Everyone thinks Emma Dockery is crazy. Obsessed with finding the link between hundreds of unsolved cases, Emma has taken leave from her job as an FBI researcher. Now all she has are the newspaper clippings that wallpaper her bedroom, and her nightly recurring nightmares of an all-consuming fire.

Not even Emma's ex-boyfriend, field agent Harrison 'Books' Bookman, will believe her that hundreds of kidnappings, rapes, and murders are all connected. That is, until Emma finds a piece of evidence he can't afford to ignore. More murders are reported by the day – and they're all inexplicable. No motives, no murder weapons, no suspects. Could one person really be responsible for these unthinkable crimes?"

The third pick was Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver. Lauren Oliver wrote the amazing and fantastic Delirium trilogy. I became fan after that. I have been looking for this everywhere for the hardcover and can only seem to find it online.

Target has the paperback for only $12 and Amazon has it for only $9.99. You can head over to Target and price match it like I have been saying and will say again and again or you can order it on Amazon right here! This book was published this year on March 10th,

Summary:

"Dara and Nick used to be inseparable, but that was before the accident that left Dara's beautiful face scarred and the two sisters totally estranged. When Dara vanishes on her birthday, Nick thinks Dara is just playing around. But another girl, nine-year-old Madeline Snow, has vanished, too, and Nick becomes increasingly convinced that the two disappearances are linked. Now Nick has to find her sister, before it's too late.

In this edgy and compelling novel, Lauren Oliver creates a world of intrigue, loss, and suspicion as two sisters search to find themselves, and each other."

The next pick on the list is Under Your Skin by Sabine Durrant. If you loved Gone Girl, the you will love this. This book is a thriller and has more twists and turns in it than a roller coaster in an amusement park. I love psychological thrillers so this is at the very top of my list.

The cover of this book stopped me right in my tracks and as I read some of the quoted reviews on the back, it was sold to me. This book is also a paperback and is priced at $12. Amazon has this book for $12.97 so your best bet is heading over to Target and grabbing a copy!

Summary:

"Gaby Mortimer is the woman who has it all. But everything changes when she finds a body near her home. She’s shaken and haunted by the image of the lifeless young woman, and frightened that the killer, still at large, could strike again.

Before long, the police have a lead. The evidence points to a very clear suspect. One Gaby never saw coming…"

Next up is Megan Abbott. Megan Abbott is a brilliant writer so when I seen that this book was out , I stopped and I snapped a pic! I had completely forgotten that this book had been released. This book was published on May 12th, 2015.

Target has this book priced at $12 and Amazon has it priced for $9.30. You can price match it at Target or you can get it on Amazon here! If you've never read any of her work, I urge you to start right away. You will definitely fall in love with the way she writes, how brilliant she writes and the intricacy in her work.

Summary:

"A small-town high school becomes the breeding ground for a mysterious illness.

Deenie Nash is a diligent student with a close-knit family; her brother Eli is a hockey star and her father is a popular teacher. But when Deenie's best friend is struck by a terrifying, unexplained seizure in class, the Nashes' seeming stability dissolves into chaos. As rumors of a hazardous outbreak spread through school, and hysteria and contagion swell, a series of tightly held secrets emerges, threatening to unravel friendships, families, and the town's fragile sense of security."

Next up is The Good Girl by Mary Kubica. What first attracted me to this book were the piercing blue eyes. I was as if the book called me over. I know you guys know what I'm talking about when a book just calls you over and you stare at it with a pensive stare.

I started to read the back and loved what the book was about. Target has this book for $12 and Amazon has this book for $11.91 so it's up to you where you'd like to buy it from. This book was published on July 29th 2014 and republished on February 24th 2015.

Summary:

""I've been following her for the past few days.

I know where she buys her groceries, where she

works. I don't know the color of her eyes or

what they look like when she's scared. But I will."

One night, Mia Dennett enters a bar to meet her on-again, off-again boyfriend. But when he doesn't show, she unwisely leaves with an enigmatic stranger. At first Colin Thatcher seems like a safe one-night stand. But following Colin home will turn out to be the worst mistake of Mia's life.

When Colin decides to hide Mia in a secluded cabin in rural Minnesota instead of delivering her to his employers, Mia's mother, Eve, and detective Gabe Hoffman will stop at nothing to find them. But no one could have predicted the emotional entanglements that eventually cause this family's world to shatter."

The next pick has been on my list for quite a while. This book, The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty sounds incredible just by the summary and the reviews it has gotten. This book is priced at $12 and Amazon has it priced at $11.43. Again, Target price matches and you can save a few quarters and head there or you can order it from Amazon here!

The summary sounds amazing! Just read it here below.

Summary:

"At the heart of The Husband’s Secret is a letter that is not meant to be read...

My darling Cecilia,
If you're reading this, then I've died...

Imagine your husband wrote you a letter, to be opened after his death. Imagine, too, that the letter contains his deepest, darkest secret—something with the potential to destroy not only the life you have built together, but the lives of others as well. And then imagine that you stumble across that letter while your husband is still very much alive…

Cecilia Fitzpatrick has achieved it all—she’s an incredibly successful businesswoman, a pillar of her small community, a devoted wife and mother. Her life is as orderly and spotless as her home. But that letter is about to change everything—and not just for her. There are other women who barely know Cecilia—or each other—but they, too, are about to feel the earth-shattering repercussions of her husband’s secret."

And the last pick of our wonderful and exciting list is We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. My daughter actually pointed this one out to me on goodreads. I really liked what the book was about just by the little bit of what was written on the back.

This book is priced at $14.39 at Target and is priced on Amazon for only $10.22! I'd head over to Target and price match this baby with the price that Amazon has. This book was published on May 13th, 2014.

Summary:

"A beautiful and distinguished family.
A private island.
A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy.
A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive.
A revolution. An accident. A secret.
Lies upon lies.
True love.
The truth."

That concludes our list for the time being. I'm sure we'll find some more books in the next few days when we head out to Target again or to Barnes & Noble. In the mean time, read a book and tell us all about it!
